A few months ago, I put together a presentation called Sketching the Deep Sky that I delivered to the Coconino Astronomical Society. It covered the Why and How of astronomical sketching for deep sky objects, including two step-by-step tutorials. Over the last few months, I’ve made some improvements to it, and will be presenting it next to the Saguaro Astronomy Club on Friday, February 2, 2007.
If you are in the Phoenix area and are interested in attending, visitors are definitely welcome. The club meeting begins at 7:30 PM, and I’ll be giving the presentation after the business portion of the meeting concludes at about 8:30 PM. SAC meetings are held at Grand Canyon University in the Fleming Building, Room 105 (one block north of Camelback Road on 33rd Ave.) Directions can be found here. If you are interested in attending, I look forward to seeing you there!
