One day some poor guy parked his VW bus across the street from our apartment either before or after he noticed it was on fire. The fire department was quick, but the back half of that thing was toast.

This lightning shot was taken from the schoolyard across the street from our home. Sometimes when the lightning streamers curl in your direction, you end up with entertaining arrangements.

This vantage, facing South, shows our home (the one at center with the little greenish square of light for a window) at 13th Avenue & Osborn during an increasingly rare monsoon storm.

A big storm over Sedona pushed this anvil over the setting sun and made for a spectacular show from pinks to oranges to purples and then solemn gray. This shot was my favorite from that series.

Our apartment on Woodlands Village Boulevard had a great view to the West. So if you cropped high enough to eliminate the usually poor lighting and composition of the apartments across the street, it made for pretty easy sunset shots every now and then.

Northern Avenue in Red

This is an approximately 15 second exposure facing East in front of Dad's house at 33rd Drive and Northern. This was my first long exposure traffic scene. It was something I had wanted to do since I was a kid staring at those cool nighttime LA & NY street scene postcards. I didn't have the nice aerial vantage point, but for my first try, I was pretty excited.

This is an approximately 20 second exposure facing West in front of Dad's house. After successfully getting a time lapse traffic shot a few months earlier, I decided to try one with some evening light still in the sky.
